I’m sure Palin would agree. And every other republican that wants to regain power at any cost.By the way, we have been stimulating since Reagan, with tax cuts and lower interest rates; we seem to be the end of that game. What’s next???Tell Kudlow, Michelle Caruso to read this.http://economistsview.typepad.com/economistsview/2010/07/the-monumental-hypocrisy-of-the-republican-party.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+EconomistsView+%28Economist%27s+View+%28EconomistsView%29%29Morbid, can you fix the link?

What’s next? Belt-tightening, some more than others, especially those not represented in the lobbies (of the Fed etc.).Stimulus has been misdirected, more of it won’t help.

We have been stimulating since Johnson. And with lots of methods of stimulus… Selling oil and gas leases cheap. Tax incentives where the cost of running government has seldom met the actual costs. During Nixon when much of our forests were sold off at below the cost of building the roads to harvest to stimulate housing when he was trying to keep the economy going while expanding/pay for the Vietnam War. The timber industry still remembers the hay days of endless forests to cut at huge profits. They would love to return to those days but the forests were never thinned or taken care of so now we have a dense choked mono culture forests that produce lots of forest fires and much less fiber than their potential. More short term thinking and insanity. All stimulus didn’t end in debt either but all stimulus had consequences. We have reached a point where you can no longer walk on the rug because to much debris and trash has been swept under it. Now we need to replace the rug and clean/rebuild the house….It is going to happen no matter what the political rhetoric and propaganda.
