Parlez-vous Français?

If “oui”, then you might want to have a look at the recent article on the Turkish economy at Challenges, with comments from your friendly neighborhood economist.

I just noticed how rusty my French was:), so I haven’t had a chance to read the whole thing in detail. But if you are interested in the debt sustainability arithmetic, on which my remarks at the very beginning are based, and to which everyone was referring to last week when Italian bond rates hit 7 percent, you can have a look at the beginning of my rather-old lecture notes.

And if you prefer to read your articles in magazine format on your tablet, as I often do, thanks to Pressdisplay’s PressReader for the Blackberry Playbook (yes, I am one of the losers who did not go for the Ipad), I have the whole thing in its original magazine format as well, in pdf in two parts: Part I, Part II.

BTW, I did not coin the term “disciple turc de Nouriel Roubini”; that is 100 percent of the author’s invention. But I had a good laugh when I read that: It is certainly true, as I am definitely usually as pessimistic as my blog host…

Au revoir et bonne nuit!

Emre Bey,

France here.
Congrats on (almost) making the French Press headlines.
And keep on the good commenting. Roubini disciple or not.
As for being a football fan, please convince your compatriots to take on Rugby and I shall follow you.

Mensieur Loethelast,

Thanks for the kind comments, but to convince my compatriots to take on Rugby, I would have to follow rugby myself. All my rugby exposure amounts to watching Invictus:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1057500/

But my condolences to you for the loss to All Blacks:( They were South Africa's opponent in the movie as well….

Best,

Emre
