Addendum to GDP post

It’s Friday night, and being the loser I am (I could also say dedicated blogger, but I am sure you won’t fall for that), I just answered two reader emails, one on how GDP statistics are compiled and another on requests for Turkish economy contacts. Since while I am at it, I could as well respond to a short reader request on shares in GDP and quarterly growth. You could see this as an addendum to my previous post on Thursday’s 1Q11 GDP release.

Here’s seasonality and working-day adjusted quarterly growth rate:

The highlight of line 13 is purely a mistake on my part:) Anyway, now you know why I often say that the Turkish and American economies, with large private consumption and negative external balances, are very similar from a National Income Accounting perspective…

I wanted to do one more post, but it is way past my bedtime. But there is always tomorrow:)….
