Getting introduced to my antics

I had a sort of a love hate relationship with my readers over at the old blog. Well, not really- as anyone who doesn’t like what I write can easily avoid reading my posts. But I had this one reader who used to declare, from time to time, that I had an inflated ego.

I think part of the reason for her conviction was my tracking down the popularity of my Hurriyet Daily News & Economic Review. or HDNER, columns. She thought it was proof of my ego, but I just did/do it for record-keeping:  I use this blog as a personal archive as well. For example, I can easily find what I thought (and wrote) about a particular matter at a particular time. But I also would like to keep track of my HDNER performance, so I just post every week how my weekly HDNER column ranked.

I was busy with lots of stuff last week, so I forgot to do it for last week’s column, but here it goes:

FYI, that is standard performance for me: I usually don’t make it to the top spot or even top three, unless I am writing about a controversial topic, but I usually make it to the top 10 somehow.

So I will be posting my HDNER performance every week. I hope you don’t see it as a sign of my inflated ego:)….
