Jose S. Medeiros

Jose S. Medeiros is the co-founder and managing partner of Stonerise Capital Partners since 2007. From 1998 to 2006, Mr. Medeiros was a Partner at Blum Capital Partners where, as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, he managed a concentrated portfolio of public and private investments across a variety of industries including business services, technology and healthcare. During Mr. Medeiros’s tenure at Blum, the firm deployed over $4.3 billion in capital in approximately 84 investments including both public strategic blocks and private equity investments. Prior to joining Blum Capital, Mr. Medeiros was a Vice President in the Technology Mergers & Acquisitions group of Robertson Stephens & Company where he was involved in over 15 completed transactions including several leveraged buyouts. Prior to Robertson Stephens, Mr. Medeiros was an Associate at McKinsey & Company in the United States and overseas, focusing on strategy, M&A and operational turnaround engagements. Additionally, Mr. Medeiros

has worked in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Prior board seats:

Renosa SA (privately owned Coca-Cola bottler) and Suntron Corporation. Mr. Medeiros earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School (second year honors) and a BA from FGV (Brazil).

Ed Dolan Ed Dolan's Econ Blog

Edwin G. Dolan is an economist and educator with a Ph.D. from Yale University. Early in his career, he was a member of the economics faculty at Dartmouth College, the University of Chicago, and George Mason University. From 1990 to 2001, he taught in Moscow, Russia, where he and his wife founded the American Institute of Business and Economics (AIBEc), an independent, not-for-profit MBA program. Since 2001, he has taught at several universities in Europe, including Central European University in Budapest, the University of Economics in Prague, and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, where he has an ongoing annual visiting appointment. During breaks in his teaching career, he worked in Washington, D.C. as an economist for the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice and as a regulatory analyst for the Interstate Commerce Commission, and later served a stint in Almaty as an adviser to the National Bank of Kazakhstan. When not lecturing abroad, he makes his home in San Juan Islands, Washington.
