Fabrizio Coricelli and Debora Revoltella

Fabrizio Coricelli holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently Professor of Economics, University of Siena and University of Paris 1. He is Research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), London. He has worked in Washington at the International Monetary Fund and at the World Bank from 1987 to 1993; in Brussels as Economic Advisor at the European Commission in 2001-2002, and as Director of Research at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London in 2007-2008. His research and professional activities have concentrated on the Economics of Emerging Markets, in particular transition countries.

Debora Revoltella is the Head of New Europe Research in Unicredit Group and she organised and is now coordinating the New Europe Research Network, involving all the research offices of the 7 banks that the Group controls in the region. Research interests include macroeconomic and banking sector analysis and forecasts, as well as specific topics related to EU and EMU convergence, to households financial behaviour in the region, as well as sectors developments and forecasts. Before joining UniCredit, Debora worked in the research Department of BCI for two years and between 1993 and 1999, while studying for her PhD, she was adjunct Professor of Macroeconomics c/o the Bocconi University in Milan. She is the author of a number of specialised articles, among others on the behaviour of international banks in the New Europe region, on households financial behaviour, on enterprises financial choices during transition. She is the editor of the Quarterly Macroeconomic Update (a quarterly report on macroeocnomic and banking sector developments in the New Europe countries) and of the Biweekly (a biweekly publication on macroeconomic developments, targeted to financial markets) and of a number of other products. Debora holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Ancona, a Master in Economics (MEc) from Bocconi University and a BA in International Economics from Bocconi University.

Thomas Grennes is a professor of economics at the North Carolina State University and a former visiting faculty member at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. His research has dealt with various aspects of international economics, including open economy macroeconomics, international finance, and international trade in agricultural products. Recent research topics have included macroeconomic aspects of the Great Moderation, offshore outsourcing, sovereign wealth funds, and the relationship between government debt and economic growth. Economic history topics include the Columbian Exchange of plants and animals, the effects on food markets of introducing mechanical refrigeration, and the integration of Tsarist Russia into the world grain market. When he is not involved in economics, he enjoys mountain hiking.
