Annetta Cortez

Annetta Cortez is currently a Managing Director at Novantas, a management consultancy serving the Financial Services industry, where she specializes in Risk Strategies and Performance Optimization. Previously she managed her own consultancy supporting major financial institutions globally.

In that capacity, Ms. Cortez has delivered a wide range of engagements across all segments of risk, capital management and risk related strategies to large financial institutions, governments, and regulatory authorities. Much of her activity of late has included performance management capital management strategies as well as diagnostic, implementation and Board-level support of Basel II capabilities for clients in the U.S., Australia, and Asia-Pacific Region.

She began her financial services focus as a principle at Oliver, Wyman and Company, a Financial Services and Risk Management specialist, and later became a senior partner at KPMG/Barents Consulting, responsible for the international practice for Risk and Performance Management and later the Asia-Pacific Enterprise Solutions and Financial Institutions practices.

Ms. Cortez holds an M.B.A in Finance, Strategic Management, and International Management from the Wharton School of Business, University Pennsylvania, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
